A telescope is a device used by astroneners
to gather information about the universe.
There are two main types of telescopes.
The reflector is the cheapest and easiest to
make because of this they are largely used
amongst amateurs. A reflector is usually
mearsured by mirror size rather than
magnifying power. The refractor works buy
gathering light on the primary mirror at
the bottom of the telescope and reflecting it
back up to a focal point at the top this is
then reflected by a secondary mirror to the
side of the telescope where it is magnified
by a lens.
The refractor works by light traveling
through a convex mirror at the top of the
telescope. This mirror bends the light which
then comes to a focal point at the bottom of
the telescope, the image is now upside down.
Astronemers do not bother to correct the
upside image, but a correction lense can be
used.
