  1. A telescope is a device used by astroneners
  2. to gather information about the universe.
  3. There are two main types of telescopes.
  4.  
  5. The reflector is the cheapest and easiest to
  6. make because of this they are largely used
  7. amongst amateurs. A reflector is usually
  8. mearsured by mirror size rather than
  9. magnifying power. The refractor works buy
  10. gathering light on the primary mirror at
  11. the bottom of the telescope and reflecting it
  12. back up to a focal point at the top this is
  13. then reflected by a secondary mirror to the
  14. side of the telescope where it is magnified
  15. by a lens.

  17. The refractor works by light traveling
  18. through a convex mirror at the top of the
  19. telescope. This mirror bends the light which
  20. then comes to a focal point at the bottom of
  21. the telescope, the image is now upside down.
  22. Astronemers do not bother to correct the
  23. upside image, but a correction lense can be
  24. used.
